How to exchange an old premium for a new one. Trade-in: exchange a premium tank for a new one! "Exchange" of conventional equipment

World of Tanks is a popular multiplayer online game that immerses the player in the world of tank battles. The game features a variety of wartime equipment - hundreds of tanks, five classes of equipment and a dozen nations to choose from. During the game, the player gradually “pumps up” - he earns experience and silver in order to open more and more new cars for the game in the future. And eventually reach the maximum, tenth, level of technology. It is clear that gradually a certain tank becomes boring or unnecessary. And consequently, you want to put it somewhere with maximum benefit. That is, you want to exchange it for a new car. How to do this?

"Exchange" of conventional equipment

It must be said right away that there is no such exchange of equipment in the game. The only exceptions are premium units, but more on them later. First, let's talk about ordinary equipment purchased for silver. It cannot be exchanged, but it can be sold to get at least part of the silver that is needed to get a tank of the next level. This is very easy to do - you just need to go to the research branch or immediately from the hangar, click on the tank and select “sell”. Yes, there will not be very much silver, it is logical that it will be less than if you were buying the same car, but from scratch, but the money will not be extra. And now some tips for selling. First, disembark the crew if they are valuable. This should be done only after the “perks”, that is, the skills of the crew, have been studied. Until this moment, there is no point in retraining the crew for a new machine; it will be easier and cheaper to recruit a new one. Three times - after the sale of equipment, there will still be modules in the warehouse. which are on at the moment They weren’t on the tank, but they were purchased at some point. You can also sell them and earn a little money, but the main thing is not to be stupid. Sometimes the same modules are installed on machines of different levels. Therefore, you shouldn’t sell it and then buy it again for a new tank. You need to remember this, because this will allow you to save silver, earned with such great difficulty. That's all for conventional technology, let's move on to premium cars.

Exchange of premium equipment

At the beginning of last year (2017) a new opportunity appeared in World of Tanks called Trade-in. In short, it makes it possible to exchange one premium tank for another, albeit with an additional payment. But not everything is so smooth. Firstly, this was a temporary event, and it happens very rarely. Secondly, not all tanks are available for exchange. But first things first.
What's the point of replacing a previously purchased car? There are several reasons. First, you are simply tired of her. Secondly, due to the fact that, unfortunately, tanks are a frequently changing game, the tank that you bought a year or two ago is now completely different. They could change the overall balance of the game, they could “nerf” the tank (reduce its characteristics, supposedly for the sake of balance). By the way, because of this, many people do not like premium equipment. It costs a lot, but may not last long. Well, the third reason is that you like the tank, and it’s good, but another one has appeared that attracts you much more.

So, how does the Trade-in principle work? It allows you to exchange some tanks for others, while reducing the cost of the tank you want to get by half the cost of the tank you are trading. For example, you have a tank that costs 7500 in gold. You want to exchange it for a tank that costs 10000. Then the new cost of the tank will be equal to: 10000 - 7500/2, that is, 6250. Not very much, but it will still save you , especially if you don’t need a tank at all. But even so everything would be too simple and good. Restrictions were placed on the exchange. Specifically:

  • Only certain tanks were available for exchange, starting from level six.
  • The exchange could be made for a tank of a higher or the same level. That is, a tank of the eighth level could not be exchanged for a tank of the seventh or sixth level.
  • If there is a discount on a tank, then half the cost will be taken from the “discount” option.
  • Mandatory availability of free berths for the crew of the exchanged tank.
    Actually, the requirements are quite normal, but most of all many tankers were interested in the first point - which tanks can be changed. In short, it was possible to exchange those tanks that were currently in the premium store. Such as: Dicker Max, Type 64, SU-122-44, T26E4 SuperPershing, T34, T-54 first sample, AMX Chasseur de chars others. But there were also those that could not be exchanged: M4A3E8 Fury, T23E3, M6A2E1, Chieftain/T95 and several more.

As a result, it turned out that although the action was useful in theory, in practice everything turned out to be not so rosy. For example, you want to exchange one tank for another of the same cost. You will get one tank, half the price than before, but you will lose another. It turns out that you will pay a total of 1.5 tanks, but will receive only one, which is somehow not logical.
Also a significant disadvantage was the fact that it was impossible to exchange for equipment of a lower level, which in theory would have made it possible to exchange one tank for another without additional payments. And it turns out that with all these conditions, the promotion turned out to be beneficial only for developers. After all, those tanks that were really bad could not be exchanged. And those that were available for replacement were, in principle, not such bad cars, so there was no point in replacing them.

We hope the article was useful to you, and you will know what to do if another such equipment exchange event takes place.

You can find out which premium tank you want to buy via trade-in in three places in the game:

Depending on the amount of gold on your account, a tank available for exchange can be displayed in two ways:

Once you have decided, right-click on the tank and select Buy or Exchange.

  • By default, the list of cars for rent is sorted by the size of the “discount” from largest to smallest.
  • The list also includes tanks that are currently unavailable for exchange (in battle, not repaired, in formation). When you click on them, a corresponding message will appear in the Notification Center.

After selecting a tank for exchange, two display options are possible: if the vehicle being purchased is without a discount (Fig. 1) and at a discount (Fig. 2).

On the exchange screen, you can perform the usual actions: buy a slot, purchase basic ammunition, train the crew. But if you don’t want to, you don’t have to purchase a slot—it remains from the tank that was traded in. Great savings! In addition, even non-removable equipment on a surrendered tank can be removed free of charge.

Enter the required amount in gold in the lower field, click Exchange, and the system again shows an additional window, in which it once again tells what will happen: the surrendered tank will be decommissioned, the crew will go to the Barracks, equipment and shells will go to the Warehouse.

Confirm your consent, the gold will be debited from your account - and a new tank will be in your Garage.

What you need to know and remember

Please read this list carefully to minimize possible misunderstandings of the trade-in system:

  • The promotion is valid for premium tanks from tiers VI to VIII from June 1 9:00 (Moscow time) By June 19 9:00 (Moscow time).
  • You can only turn in tanks of the same or lower level than the one you are buying (but not lower than VI).
  • The exchange takes place on a 1 to 1 basis.
  • There are discounts on prices: if there is a discount on a delivered tank, the savings will be less!
  • The shells, equipment and equipment on the surrendered tank are unloaded free of charge into the Warehouse.
  • Camouflage, emblems and inscriptions are tied to a specific tank, so if you sell (or in this case exchange) this tank, they remain in the Warehouse. You will be able to use them in the future only if you purchase this tank again.
  • The crew of the surrendered tank disembarks at the Barracks. If there are no free beds there, there will be no exchange!
  • You cannot restore a surrendered tank using credits.
  • There is no need to purchase a new slot for the tank you are purchasing.
  • The exchange occurs only when the operation is re-confirmed (where it is described what will happen to the tank) - before this, the exchange can be absolutely calmly interrupted, and nothing will happen.

On January 12, Wargaming released micropatch 9.17.02, in which a new thing appeared for players like Trade-in. The system is in tanks for the first time and will be available from January 12 to January 23, 6:00 (Moscow time). We will try to explain in detail what it is and how to use it.

What is Trade-In in World of Tanks

Many tankers have premium vehicles sitting in their hangars, gathering dust, which were either bought out of stupidity, or are boring, or, due to changes made, have become uncomfortable for the game. Our beloved company meets such people and offers to exchange this tank for half of its value in gold equivalent, which will be taken into account when purchasing a new premium.

For example, it works like this: You are going to purchase a T34, the cost of which is 12 000 , and you have Lowe in your hangar. So here's a lion exchange for 6250 gold, add to this the missing amount (in our case 5750) and purchase T34. Simply put, you sell your premium tank for half its price, but you are obligated to buy a new one.

Everything seems clear, but there are some nuances here:
You can only return a premium tank of an equal or lower level compared to the one you are buying.
Not all cars can be rented/purchased

What tanks can be sold for gold?

What are the selling features?

  • Other ongoing promotions affect the cost of both the tank being traded and purchased;
  • The exchange takes place on a 1 to 1 basis;
  • You cannot restore a surrendered tank using credits;
  • There is no need to purchase a new slot for the tank you are purchasing.
Whether this promotion is a new way for the company to earn money or is it a breakthrough to meet the players - it’s up to you to decide, but we wish you new victories on the battlefields!

We will not be mistaken if we say that every tanker has premium tanks, interest in which has cooled over time, or even disappeared completely. It seems to be sitting idle in the Hangar, but it’s a pity to sell it. And in the meantime, no, no, and the thought of trying a new premium technique will slip through, but there simply isn’t enough in-game gold for it.

And here the well-known rade-in system comes to the aid of players, but already in tanks: until January 23, 6:00 (Moscow time), you will be able to purchase certain new premium tanks, turning in unused/uninteresting ones for credit. Interesting? We answer in order!

Which tank can I buy with t rade-in?

Some premium tanks from Tier VI to VIII are subject to exchange , but with an important caveat: you can only turn in a premium tank of an equal or lower level compared to the one you are buying.

Please note: a surrendered tank is accepted for half of its cost. Rounding goes up.

Example: you want a new premium tank for 10,000. In exchange, you want to hand over a car that is pure form costs 5000. According to the trade-in mechanism, the old tank will be counted for 2500, and you will pay an additional 7500 for the new tank. The total discount on a new tank in this example will be 2500.

Discount promotions taking place in the game affect the cost of the tank being traded in and purchased - this will be clearly displayed in the exchange window.

As for the exchange rules described in the image above, the system itself will tell you which tanks can be traded in, everything is as simple as possible. The next block is about this.

How to exchange tanks?

You can find out which premium tank you want to buy via trade-in in three places in the game:

In addition, even non-removable equipment on a surrendered tank can be removed free of charge.

Enter the required amount in gold in the lower field, click “Exchange”, and the system again displays an additional window in which it once again tells what will happen: the surrendered tank will be written off, the crew will go to the Barracks, equipment and shells will go to the Warehouse.

Confirm your consent, the gold will be debited from your account - and a new tank will be in your Garage.

What you need to know and remember

Please read this list carefully to minimize possible misunderstandings of the trade-in system:

Happy shopping and happy playing!

When purchasing a new car, the old one is taken into account. With a discount you can buy any premium tank from Tier VI to VIII inclusive from those available in World client of Tanks.

Most premium cars from Tier IV to VIII are accepted, with rare exceptions.

Exchange of tanks by trade in

You can exchange your tank for equipment of the same level or higher. It will not be possible to turn in a Tier VIII tank and buy a VI or VII. On the contrary, it is possible to change a tank of a lower level to a higher one. In the research tree, next to the icon of the vehicle for which you have a suitable vehicle, there will be a special symbol with two arrows. One tank is exchanged for another. You cannot hand over one tank to the Trade in program and get several others instead. When buying a new one, half of its value in gold is taken into account.

There are two ways to exchange a tank via trade-in:

  1. click on the car icon in the development tree;
  2. from the store in the hangar. A special filter has been added to it.

Please note that the exchange operation will not work if you are handing over a tank that has a crew, and there is not enough space in your barracks to disembark all the tankers. Remember, if a tank is traded in, it will be impossible to restore it for credits later.

According to the rules, changing premium tanks via trade-in means getting a discount when purchasing a new premium tank. By giving away your premium tank, you receive compensation for it in the form of 50% of its cost in game gold. The missing part of the gold will have to be paid extra. In order to change tanks, you must have a sufficient amount of gold on your balance for the exchange.
